Kaelis Introduces Breakthrough Technology with Effective Protection against CoViD19 as Validated by the University of Southampton

Kaelis, the leading independent provider of onboard products, services and solutions, has partnered with COPPTECH, the world leader in biocide technology, to create onboard products that have antimicrobial protection that not only eliminates SARS-COV-2 virus (the cause of CoViD19) but also protects from infectious diseases, pathogenic microbes, bacteria, virus and fungi.

The technology has been extensively tested and validated by the prestigious Professor of Environmental Healthcare within the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton, Dr Bill Keevil, certifying its capacity to inhibit the growth and most importantly to eliminate CoViD19 virus.

Kaelis is exclusively introducing this state-of-the-art patented technology to the travel industry. The technology has been tested and acts as a shield against pathogenic microorganisms, rupturing their membrane, affecting their internal processes and finally eliminating them.

The effectiveness of this technology relies on the biocidal properties of copper and zinc - also analysed by a study from the New England Journal of Medicine1.

This technology has been tested by International Standards and Regulations such as IAC (International Antimicrobial Council), Bureau Veritas, SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) and TÜV SÜD, the world provider of ISO 9001. Additionally, it is registered in the US’ Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

This patented technology will allow Kaelis to produce new solutions for the onboard sector. Besides, all products treated with this technology are non-toxic, eco-friendly and safe for use.

Products such as pyjamas, blankets, pillows, socks, pouches, trays, jugs, ice buckets, masks for the crew, galley equipment and many others will act as a shield against disease-causing microbes, inhibiting the growth and eliminating virus, bacteria and fungi.

LATAM is already protecting its passengers by using blankets that have COPPTECH’s technology incorporated. The look and feel of these blankets are the same as if they did not have the technology, but they come with a  biocidal protection shield.

Kaelis is proud to sign this agreement in times that safety, security and protection against viruses in the travel industry are more needed than ever before.

Kaelis CEO, Federico Heitz, states: “The most important thing now is to convince passengers that travelling is safe. Only by taking the necessary action to do this, we will be able to make this industry thrive again.”
