Eco-friendly Materials: Polylactic Acid Copolymer (CPLA)
CPLA is a Crystallized PLA (mixture of lactide and aliphatic polyesters and derived from renewable resources such as cornstarch or potato).* CPLA does not dissolve in alcoholic solvents, oils and diluted solution of strong acids. It does dissolve in aromatic hydrocarbons, concentrated acids and caustic soda.
Uses: disposable cutlery, disposable trays, snack boxes and salad containers, hot cups lids, coating in paper cups, compostable bags and food wraps.
*During the crystallisation process the material acquires some thermic properties that allows for it to stand higher temperatures up to 110º depending on the original PLA formula.
